The main reason for going to Cambodia was to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat so I booked a evening flight out of Siem Reap so in case the weather on the first day wasn’t so good, we would have a backup day.
Day 2 was a day to recoup and do nothing. So the request was to hang out at the pool. We couldn’t just do that all morning so we went out to check out the the town, walk along the river, got sweaty and came back for a swim to cool down before checkout at noon.
Before all that we had to have a blizzard from Dairy Queen. Mango and Durian flavour!
In the afternoon, we had the option to wait around in a coffee shop till our flight at 7pm or go to an artisan silk farm about half hour drive away for a free tour. So that is what we did. We were able to see the country side and have now have a real appreciation for silk and how it comes about.
Siem Reap would be right without a ride on a Tuk-tuk, US$5 ride to the airport!
