Mummy Thoughts

Tomato harvest

It has been a while since I have had a vegetable garden. This year I decided to put a tomato plant in the flower garden in the front of the house. It had a little bit of a shade as it sat a little under a lilac tree. Never the less, the kids love cherry tomatoes, so why not! My 80 cent investment yielded…

A plant that grew towards the Lilac tree but collapsed under it own weight, still will lots of fruit.

Unfortunately, they didn’t get a chance to turn red before it got too cold.

So I have a box full of green cherry tomatoes that I have to wait to ripen. Hope it doesn’t rot before they turn red! They have had over 50 fruits already so I think that is still a great return on my investment… Next year I have to make sure I plant it in the full sun, might have more luck with the tomatoes ripening sooner. Such big juicy fruits too… Perhaps I can save the seeds and plant it from seed next year?!?
