Happy Fathers Day

We had such a wonderful day.  On Sunday, June 20th, the annual Father’s Day marathon was held in Winnipeg  and as we had a couple of good friends competing.  We headed down toward the finish line at the University to watch them.  Since we live so close to the University, we decided to bike there.  Unfortunately, since Natalie is not confident enough on her bike so I had to walk there with her and the boys biked.  Actually I walked and she rode in the wagon.

We started off at 8am and it took me a record time of 35 minutes to walk there dragging the wagon and all the snacks….  It was fun, we watched our friends run and supported them with cheers and extra energy as they were ending the run.  As I watch the runners go by, I sometimes think, I could do a half marathon, but do I really want to.  Perhaps when I am older, when I have a little more time to train.  I know once I make that decision, I will be able to do it.  Now it is just not a priority.

In between watching our friends, the kids entertained themselves.  The wagon came in handy as a toy and a place to relax.

The walk back home was a little more difficult as the sun was shinning and it was getting warmer.  The weather in the morning seemed perfect for the runners.  Me on the other hand, well I was getting a little bit of a workout with the extra pulling.  I think I am much stronger today…

In the afternoon, we all headed to China town to get some groceries, family day out with my parents too.  We love going to the store, buying all sorts of Asian snacks.  This was a stop on the way to Clanderboye for dinner at Kyle’s mum’s place.  All Kyle’s siblings were there so it was nice.  The kids had a blast playing at the beach along the creek and going for boat rides on Uncle Tim’s boat.

Everyone had a wonderful day with a great dinner.  Check out Andrew’s picture on the drive home, a perfect end to an awesome day with family.
