Holiday in Thief River Falls – 7 Clans
Ok, after we said that we were not going down to the US in the morning, our friends that we were planning to go down with, decided to go anyways as they had taken holidays and wouldn’t be able to take advantage of the great deal (read on to find out more about that!).
So at around noon, they called to tell us that they were on the Highway near Morris, MB and the highway roads were good. They drove slow and it was fine. At this point, we decided to just go. We knew that we would have a blast. With everyone’s lives being so busy, we figured that we should seize the moment, and just go, we might never had another opportunity to hang out like for a long time! One night in Grand Forks and if the weather got bad, it would just an hour drive to Thief River Falls, In Grand Forks, the kids had a blast at the hotel pool on Saturday night and Sunday morning with the dads while the mum’s went shopping!
Our friend Chris told us about the coupons that he found on the 7Clans website. Free night stay when you sign up for a players card. We have 2 adults, one coupon per person, 2 nights stay, so we would have 2 free nights stay, and just pay for the water park, which has a lazy river. It would be a great stay for the kids. So we printed out the coupons. When we got to Thief River Falls, Chris printed the free dinner coupons, the free breakfast coupons and the $10 cash back coupon! They took them all even though it said that the coupons could not be used in conjunction with each other. The total savings was approximately $200 per family plus the $20 cash back! It was totally free. Wow! I can’t seem to find the coupons online, it might have only been good till end of January. Check their website. If you find it, let us all know!
Here is a little video of our little winter vacation. What a blast. The day we were at the pool, the wind was just wicked, the snow was blowing horizontally, we were so glad to be inside. The wristbands for the pool was also good for the next morning so we took advantage and squeezed in another hour at the water park!

The mac comes with the software iMovie. It is so easy to use and it comes with all sorts of sounds and music. I don’t even know what is all there yet. I will learn it as I make more movies…
I had so much fun making the video. My kids have watched the video over and over too. You might have to make a detour on your trip home. Next time we will have to plan a trip together…

I used iMovie HD on my mac. The software came with the computer.
That looks like so much fun! And it did not look crowded at all………. in fact, were you the only ones there?
Actually there were maybe 10 other people there besides us on the first day and on the morning before we left, there was only us. It was like our own private pool!
