Mummy Thoughts

Adventures in Orlando

While Kyle is on course for another day, the plan was for us today was to be a relaxing day without running around too much.  The only thing I had to do was go to church and do laundry, we have run out of clothes…

Right after breakfast and a call from the room next door(the kids were too loud), we left the room at 8:15am.  Church was at 9am.  I decided to walk to church, check out the downtown streets of Orlando.  Staying in a business district, the roads were dead, not too many cars and everything was closed.

The walk to church was uneventful, it was about a mile(1.6km), it took us about 25 minutes to walk there.  Natalie complained halfway there and wanted me to carry her, I just distracted her and kept her mind of that request.  After mass, she complained all the way home, wanting me to carry her.  The boys did good though without any complains, they just kept themselves busy with cross walks and dried leaves.

After church, we went back to the room and the kids all did school work.  Since they had only done one day of work last week, we had to do something on the weekend.  They finished their work and then had lunch and then headed to the pool.  It was another hot day today, so the pool was refreshing.  The boys did back floats and back kicks, they have come a long way and am so proud of them.  Even Natalie is swimming with her doggy kick, she is getting braver.  Just need her to jump it.  Actually she will jump in, on top of you!

After the swim, we headed out to laundromat, my first time.  Matthew was there to learn along side me.  I stuffed a weeks worth of clothes into this huge washing machine, darks and lights and then dried them in two dryers.  It was fun.  There were people there, regulars who were so opening to helping you.  The laundromat was open air almost, hugh slide downs that were all opened, with fans blowing, I guess blowing out all the hot air.  The kids just hung out around the van and in the front of the store.  They kept themselves busy for about an hour and a half, playing games and reading.

When we got back to the hotel, it was dinner time and Kyle had returned from course.  He really missed the kids during the day.  Well, we have been doing stuff together as a family, everyday for the last two and a half months, him going on course is abnormal.  Even the kids missed him.  The just assumed that he is always there.  When we were going to the pool, they kept the lift door open, waiting for him to get in and then realizing that he wasn’t there.

The day has been a little slower pace but I havn’t really had a chance to sit down to relax till now.  I need to go to bed early too, all these activities are taking a toll on me.  I am happy to say that the family is putting on weight, they had a scale at the local grocery store so we weighed everyone.  Matthew is 52lbs, Andrew is 38lbs and Natalie is 30lbs.  All putting on weight nicely.  Matthew had outgrown his pants, he had a bit of a growth spurt when we first got to Warner Robins, eating everything in sight.  He has slowed down abit and not eating as much now.  We had to buy him size 10 jeans, his long legs.

Tonight they went to bed before 9pm tonight, for the past little while, it has been about 10pm.  Too late for them, we just have been doing so many activities.  Tomorrow we are headed towards the pan handle of Florida.  Havn’t decided where to go, to a beach town of course.  Maybe Panama City or something.  We still have to book something tonight. It will be a longer drive tomorrow and looking forward to going to another city.
